Last October Weedon’s Cultural and Natural History Center re-opened to visitors. As anticipated, the Sunday opening has significantly enriched the visitors’ experience at the Preserve, attracting area residents and travelers from near and far.
Throughout the fall and winter, the number of Sunday visitors to the Center has continued to climb and, on March 19, hit a record high of 320 adults and children. Of special interest is the prehistoric saltwater canoe, carbon-dated at over 1,000 years old, found on the Preserve, raised, and now on display.
The Center is open from 11-4 on Sundays (9-4 Thursday through Saturday). There is no charge. Take advantage of our terrific Spring weather and enjoy natural Florida at Weedon Island and its wonderful Center.
