Sponsoring a variety of adult educational programs is integral to the Friends mission. Ongoing programs include:
Weedon Warriors, where Friends members and naturalists lead veterans from the Bay Pines Veterans Recreation Therapy program on guided canoe trips through Weedon Island’s mangrove tunnels;
Salty Topics, where marine biologists and naturalists offer presentations focused on Tampa Bay’s marine habitat; and
Cultural programs that feature presentations on Florida related novels and non-fiction titles along with classical music concerts that showcase local artists.
