The 7th Annual Gopher Weedon Trail Run, sponsored by Friends of Weedon Island, is now in the books. Congratulations to the 200 participants who made the 8K event go by, quite literally, so fast! Once again, the weather was perfect, the course dry, and the food superb. A special thanks to our many vendors and volunteers who make each year’s race possible.
Coming in first was Tampa’s Matthew Larkins while St. Petersburg’s Christine Kiernan-Ortiz was the first woman to cross the line several minutes later. Charlie Eggiman, at 10 years of age, had another “wow” race success, winning special recognition as the 10th person to cross the line.
