The 12th Annual Gopher Weedon Trail Run is ON THE CALENDAR! Scheduled for October 26. This professionally timed event through the Preserve’s flows through mangroves, salt marsh, and Florida scrub habitat on the Preserve’s boardwalks and dirt trail. You may even see wildlife including egrets, ospreys, herons, roseate spoonbills, and the slow-moving gopher tortoise (a threatened species for which the race was named). Indian mounds and dune ridges make the event especially unique. Refreshments and an awards ceremony close out the morning.
We’re excited to share that we’re now using RunSignup for registration. Through RunSignp, last year’s participants can easily reference their performance and even their individual photos taken during the run. It’s a super site that we’re confident you’ll appreciate.
To best protect the Preserve’s trails and ecosystem, the Gopher Weedon Trail Run is limited to 200 participants. To assure your space, register early!
